Microsuede Upholstery Stain Removal

Microsuede is commonly used on couches and chairs.

Microsuede upholstery has a softness similar to traditional suede. This material is often easier to clean than regular suede, which makes it an ideal choice for couches and other types of furniture. A solution of gentle soap and warm water is strong enough to remove stains from your microsuede. Does this Spark an idea?

Considerations

A soap with a low pH level is best for use on microsuede because it won't dry out the upholstery or make the fabric feel rough. Facial soaps and cleansers meant for sensitive skin are best.

Cleaning

Mix the soap and water in a spray bottle and spray directly on the stain. Blot the stain with a light-colored cloth, which absorbs the stain. Spray fresh water onto the area, and blot again to remove all traces of the stain. Keep blotting until the upholstery is dry.

Warning

Anytime you apply water to microsuede, you risk developing water stains. You must completely dry the upholstery to prevent the water stains.
