The ESET Smart Security antivirus utility provides protection against malware when you are online or offline. Keep the ESET Smart Security virus definitions updated to ensure maximum protection for your computer. Unfortunately, ESET Smart Security does not provide a built-in option for offline updates. However, you can use a user-created ESET Offline Cumulative Update file to update virus definitions when you are not connected to the internet.
Instructions
1. Right-click the ESET Offline Cumulative Update ZIP file and select "Extract All."
2. Double-click the EXE file inside the extracted folder to launch the ESET Offline Cumulative Update Setup. Click "Next" twice. Specify a destination to install the update and click "Next." Click "Start" to install the ESET Offline Cumulative Update.
3. Open ESET Smart Security. Press the "F5" key to load the ESET Smart Security Advanced Setup.
4. Click the "Update" side-tab.
5. Click the "Edit" button next to the "Update Server" field. Enter the destination of the ESET Offline Cumulative Update installation into the "Update Servers" box and click "Add."
6. Click "OK" twice.
7. Click the "Update" option on the ESET Smart Security main window.
8. Click "Update Virus Signature Database" to update ESET Smart Security.
