Make Flypaper And Fly Traps

Make Flypaper and Fly Traps

Flies are disgusting, flying, germ ridden, spreaders of disease. Can you tell, I do not like flies? Flies ruin outdoor barbeques and picnics. They are a nuisance in the house. Flies land on food and you are constantly swatting them away. This is a very easy way to make your own Flypaper or Fly Traps. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Buy a paper decoration from a party store. It can be a centerpiece type decoration or what I like to use is a paper lantern. Whatever type of decoration you buy, be sure it has an open area. Make sure you do not buy anything expensive. Buying a decoration is not necessary, it will just make your flypaper more attractive. Who wants to see dead flies stuck to a piece of cardboard hanging over their food.

2. Cut a piece of thin cardboard or heavy stock paper. The size will be determined by the size of your paper decoration.

3. Paint a coat of honey on your cardboard or heavy weight paper. Allow the honey to sit for about 2 hours. The honey should feel very sticky and not drip off of your cardboard.

4. Hide the cardboard inside your table decoration or hanging lantern. Glue the cardboard to an inside surface so that it is pretty much hidden. Place close to your food or area where you have a fly problem. The flies will go for the honey, get stuck and die. After your party or barbeque, throw the entire decoration in the garbage. You can also punch a hole in the top of your flypaper , insert a ribbon and hang.
