Replace The Rope On A Craftsman Edger Trimmer

Edgers keep the lawn looking well-kept.

The Craftsman edger and trimmer is a gardening tool for trimming weeds and lawns. The rope, or line, of the edger and trimmer spins at high speeds, allowing you to trim weeds or grass in tight spaces or along curbs and garden beds. Replacing the line in a Craftsman edger and trimmer is a simple process. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Turn the unit off and hold it upside down so you can access the line cover.

2. Press down on the tabs located on the each side of the spool cover. The cover will pop off. Set it aside. Lift the line spool up, and the spring underneath it. Set the spring aside.

3. Insert 1 inch of the 0.08 replacement rope or line into the hole on the bottom of the spool, then wind the line around the spool in one even layer until you reach the top lip of the spool. Cut the line with sharp scissors.

4. Push the cut end of the line through the eyelet in the housing. Push the spring back into place, and lower the spool over it. Snap the cover back into place.
