Chests are the oldest types of furniture. Vanity dressers are used for exactly what their name says---vanity. These dressers are normally constructed on a small scale with a mirror attached and a small bench for sitting. Vanity dressers bring style and elegance into bedrooms, sitting rooms, and bathrooms alike. Most vanities sport an antique look and have built-in jewelry armoires.
Changing Station
Changing stations are usually not the first piece of furniture that comes to mind when a dresser is mentioned, but changing tables with drawers attached are used as dressers in many nurseries. Many of these changing stations are equipped with a changing table on top of a mid-size dresser that can be used in the room long after the baby is out of diapers.
