Using wood wax will keep your wood looking healthy.
Cleaning and dusting wood furniture keeps it looking clean, but that does not protect the wood or give it a that deep shine. The solution is polishing with wax. This safeguards the surface of the wood and brings the grain to life. It takes a little time to polish properly; however, you do not have to do this every week. Once-a-month waxing maintains your wood furniture's beautiful appearance. If you notice a waxy build up use either fine steel wool or alcohol, to gently rub off the excess. Then, continue with a fresh polish. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Place a small amount of liquid wood wax on the cotton rag. Use just enough to cover the surface of the furniture. Move the rag in a circular motion over the surface of the wood, against the grain.
2. Leave the wax on the surface of the wood for a minimum of ten minutes and a maximum of an hour. This gives the wax time to permeate the wood. Check the directions on the product for recommended timing. Do not rush. You can do other tasks while the wood soaks up the wax.
3. Apply a second coat by following Steps 1 and 2, again. Cover all areas sparingly and evenly. Let this coat remain in place for an hour. Buff the surface with a soft buffing cloth, until you are happy with the results. Leave the wood alone, overnight, then do a final buffing in the morning.
