Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil is a Wii port of the Gamecube remake of the original Resident Evil game developed by Capcom. It was released in the United States in June 2009. Players take on the role of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine and progress through a seemingly abandoned mansion, solving puzzles and battling the undead denizens within.
Instructions
Play Resident Evil on Wii
1. Choose your character. Depending on your choice, the game will change both in terms of story and gameplay. Chris provides a more challenging game experience with tougher enemies and less item slots while also introducing players to Rebbecca Chambers, star of Resident Evil Zero. Choosing Jill gives players more item slots, slightly easier enemies, and the ability to pick locks.
2. Conserve your ammo. The original Resident Evil game is not built around running and gunning gameplay. Ammo is scarce and if you find yourself with an empty gun, you'll need to rely on your knife and secondary defense weapons. Avoid enemies whenever possible and during combat aim for the head.
3. Burn the bodies of killed zombies. Zombie bodies that are left after being killed will resurrect later in the game as Crimson Head Zombies. These enemies are fast moving and will slice through the players with their talons. Another way to dispose of zombies is to use the grenade launcher or shotgun to decapitate them.
4. Memorize the locations of save rooms. Inside these rooms are item boxes where additional items can be stored; your character does not have enough capacity for every needed item. Players should be able to find their way back to these rooms through multiple paths, especially when Chris or Jill are low on health.
5. Keep track of puzzles and key requirements. Write down the locations of rooms that require a certain set of items to unlock a door or obtain a needed tool. Much of the game is spent moving back and forth through the mansion, garden house and laboratory. Remembering the door that requires the spade key to unlock is vital to progressing.
6. Read every additional file you come across within the game. These can provide puzzle solutions, game tips and add to the intricate plot. Missing out on files will leave you with half of an understanding of the game.
