Match A Reddishbrown Leather Couch

While leather furniture is often considered severe in the world of interior design, a leather couch in a warm, reddish-brown shade can make up for the sofa's texture. Use additional warm and earth-toned decor pieces, such as natural-wood coffee tables and area rugs featuring red and brown patterns and designs, to match and complement the sofa. Avoid bright or severe colors, such as white or deep purple, when decorating around a reddish-brown leather couch and instead focus on hues that will warm up the room. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Use a leather love seat and individual chairs in brown and red shades if you cannot find such furniture in reddish-brown hues. Avoid upholstered pieces as they will clash with the leather. Look for a love seat and chairs in muted red tones rather than bright or "fire engine" reds, so they better match the sofa. Position the pieces around the sofa in a circular or square shape.

2. Decorate around the couch with natural or stained wood furniture, such as end tables, coffee tables and assorted bookshelves or small shelves for knickknacks. The warm tones of natural and stained wood will match a reddish-brown leather sofa much better than most painted wood furniture.

3. Use throws and pillows in muted red and brown hues on your reddish-brown sofa; drape a throw along the back of the couch and place pillows along the sides and middle to create a symmetrical look.

4. Decorate with additional embellishments that will complement the leather sofa, such as pictures in wooden frames, lamps with natural wood stands, and area rugs that feature combinations of red, brown and reddish-brown if possible.
