Remodel A Kitchen In A Day

You can successfully remodel the look and feel of your kitchen in a day.

Remodeling your kitchen does not require you to spend a month or even a weekend performing the remodel. Instead, you may wish to remodel your kitchen in a day. Remodeling your kitchen in a day may require you to remodel certain aspects of it and not others; for example, you may decide to paint the walls rather than replace the flooring. However, you do not need any specific carpentry skills or tools to remodel a kitchen in a day. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Unplug and remove your appliances from your kitchen. Slide your refrigerator out of its designated area. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines for removing your stove; the process will vary depending on if you have a gas or electric stove.

2. Paint the walls in your kitchen with interior paint, your paintbrush and paint roller. Select a paint color different from what you currently have on your walls. This ensures your kitchen has a different look and feel to it. Allow the paint to dry completely.

3. Install new kitchen appliances. Plug in your new appliances and slide them into place. Typically, major appliances, such as refrigerators and stoves, are placed in designated areas in a kitchen.

4. Install a pot rack in your kitchen to hold your pots and pans. Typically, a pot rack is secured to your kitchen's ceiling. Hang your pots and pans on the pot rack with the hooks provided with the rack. This instantly positively affects the look and feel of your kitchen and allows you to display your pots and pans as decorations.

5. Replace your kitchen's window treatment with a new or modern version.

6. Place rugs on the floor in your kitchen to change the look and feel of the flooring. This prevents you from having to install new flooring, which takes more than a day to perform.

7. Hang shelving in your kitchen to display decorative items. Typically, shelving secures to your walls with screws. Not only does this affect the look and feel of your kitchen, but it also helps organize it.

8. Turn off the power in your kitchen by flipping the breaker marked "Kitchen" in your home's main breaker box. Remove your current light fixture by unscrewing it from the ceiling and untwisting the wires.

9. Install a new light fixture according to the manufacturer's directions. Commonly, you have to twist the color-coded wires together and secure the fixture to the ceiling with the screws provided.

10. Turn on the power to your kitchen and use your new light fixture to admire your handiwork.
