As a magnet school, its program focuses on mathematics, science and technology. All students eligible to attend school in Miami Dade may apply. The school is also nationally recognized for its marine program theme and had 550 students as of February 2011.
Design & Architectural Senior High School
Design & Architectural Senior High School is a magnet school with 469 students as of the 2010/2011 school year. The magnet program focuses on mathematics, science and technology. Math scores match those of Maritime & Science Technology at the 95th percentile while its reading scores are slightly lower at 87 percent. Of the top 10 high schools in Miami Dade for math and reading scores, this is the only school with an architectural theme.
New World School Of The Arts
Affiliated with the University of Florida, The New World School Of The Arts had an enrollment of 486 students as of February 2011. The school's mascot is the "fightin' pigeons."
