Edwards had 720 students enrolled in 2010/2011 while Parker had 457 students. Nash Central Middle School in Nashville had an enrollment of 615 in 2010/2011, Red Oak Middle School in Battleboro had 978 students and Southern Nash in Spring Hope had the largest enrollment for the year with 1,060 students.
High Schools
Five high schools cater for Nash county students. Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School in Rocky Mount serves grades nine to 12 and blends high school and college coursework with a goal of earning a high school diploma and an associate degree in just five years. 2010/2011 enrollment was 223. The other four high schools serve grades nine to 12 and had similar enrollments in 2010/2011, from 1,213 at Rocky Mount High School to 1,266 at Southern Nash High School in Bailey.
Alternative Schools
W.L. Greene Alternative School has two campuses. The W.L. Greene campus is located in Nashville and the J.C. Braswell campus is located in Rocky Mount. The school had 100 students in 2010/2011 from third to twelfth grade. Alternative education is offered, with small class sizes and a character education focus. The technology department is housed at the Nashville campus.
