What Is Cirque De Soleil In Las Vegas

Cirque du Soleil is a French-Canadian circus troupe with several major productions shows on the Las Vegas Strip. The shows combine dance with gymnastics and humor to entertain visitors of all ages.


History


Cirque du Soleil was founded by former street performers Guy Laliberte and Daniel Gauthier in Montreal in 1980. The first permanent show in Las Vegas was "Mystere," which started at Treasure Island in 1993.


Types


Cirque du Soleil has expanded in Las Vegas to also include "KA" at MGM Grand, "Zumanity" at New York-New York, "O" at Bellagio and "Love" at Mirage.


Costs


Ticket prices for Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas tend to sell for between $100 and $200.


Misconceptions


While "Zumanity" is an adults-only production, the rest of Cirque du Soleil's shows are appropriate for people of all ages.


Fun Fact


"O" is performed in and above a 1.5 million gallon water tank in a 1,800 seat theater.
