Italian Restaurants In San Fernando Valley California

The San Fernando Valley is the northernmost region of Los Angeles, California, and offers Italian dining eateries in cities such as Burbank, Northridge and Sherman Oaks. Many of the Italian restaurants in the San Fernando Valley have casual atmospheres and serve both northern and southern Italian cuisine. Monte Carlo Deli & Pinocchio's Restaurant


The family-operated Monte Carlo Deli is on Magnolia Boulevard and has served the Burbank community since the 1960s; it's adjacent restaurant, Pinocchio, has been open since 1971. This casual Italian eatery serves its patrons sandwiches at the counter and traditional waiter service is provided. Prices range from $5 to $10, as of winter 2010. The deli section of the establishment features a grocery with Italian breads, wines and sauces. This restaurant is open seven days a week. Dinner entrees include the potato gnocchi, linguine with clams and meat tortellini. The restaurant offers a catering service.


Sisley Italian Kitchen


Situated in Sherman Oaks, Sisley Italian Kitchen is a trendy Italian eatery right off Ventura Boulevard, less than a mile from the Sherman Oaks Galleria Mall. This restaurant has a vibrant atmosphere and the dining room resembles an Italian piazza with brick walls and columns. As of winter 2010, the price range is $12 to $20. Valet parking is available. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner every day of the week; reservations are recommended. The menu offers lasagna bolognese and cioppino--a seafood combination of calamari, shrimp and scallops; panini selections include the grilled ahi tuna and Sisley Panini, which has eggplant, mozzarella cheese and tomatoes.


Buon Gusto Ristorante and Bar


Buon Gusto is in the northern San Fernando Valley city of Mission Hills, right off the San Diego Freeway. This restaurant's dining room has a casual atmosphere with fresh flowers on the tables and a full-service bar in the back of the room. The restaurant's price range is $17 to $22, as of winter 2010. Buon Gusto waiters wear dark aprons; the patron dress code is casual. The restaurant hosts wine tasting events throughout the year. The menu features the seafood paella--a stew with shrimp, mussels and rice; veal alla paillard--or veal with virgin oil and lemon; and the Buon Gusto Special pizza, which has tomatoes, artichokes and roasted peppers. Reservations are recommended for the restaurant.


Bistro Alessio


Bistro Alessio, located in Northridge, is a casual restaurant in the northern region of the San Fernando Valley. During evening hours, the restaurant dims the lights, setting a romantic ambiance. Price range, as of winter 2010, is $15 to $25. The restaurant serves lunch on weekdays and dinner every night of the week. Reservations are suggested. Take-out and catering services are available; the restaurant hosts private parties upon request. The menu features scampi fra diavolo--shrimp and linguini in spicy tomato sauce; and farfalle salmon--or cubed salmon in vodka pink sauce.
