Spanish Interior Decoration

Mexican Decorative Pattern

Want to add a little more Latin spice to your life? Latin decorations exude that energetic and positive vibe that everyone can benefit from. The colorful patterns can wow you and make you upbeat and happy. Just like Spanish music, a splendid Spanish interior decoration can make you feel like everything is OK, even when it's not.

Painting

Avoid using wallpaper when decorating homes Spanish-style. This would cost far too much money. Instead, paint your walls with colors other than white. Orange, yellow, green and red are the trendiest colors. Avoid using more than two colors on each wall, as this could result in a gaudy-looking and unattractive wall.

Sculptures/Folk Art

Adobe sculptures are the essence of Latin decor. Make sure that the piece will fit or meshes well with the color of your walls. Place the sculptures in appropriate spots of the room you wish to decorate. Also, buy some cheap folk art such as clay plates, cups and jars that blend with the color of your furniture.

Artwork/Flooring

Search for framed artwork of famous Latin painters to put on your walls. Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo have created some of the most beautiful masterpieces known to man. For flooring, use hardwood floors instead of carpet. If you prefer tiled flooring, choose ceramic or terracotta tiles. For rugs, go with an rustic, ethnic-style rug to get that authentic Spanish aura.
