Spanish colors are derived from the organic minerals and pigments in the environment. For example, red-orange hues found in ceramics and Spanish tile roofing come from earthy materials and dirt; gold and yellow shades are inspired by sandy beaches; creamy whites are inspired by seashells and pebbles; and the rich variation of ocean and sky inspires blues and greens. Spanish greens are often dark, representing the organic foliage and grass of the outdoors. Green can often be found on mosaic tile art pieces and can be used on walls and furniture pieces to create a natural mood.
