Reproduction Of Furniture

An early American chair, after reproduction.

Reproduced furniture is furniture made to look antique, from a certain time period or style. Reproduction furniture is often made similar in style to antique, yet modern in materials; new wood, or beveled glass tops, like those found on tables. Does this Spark an idea?

Rustic

Reproduced rustic furniture is simple in design, and often left unfinished, with a primitive look. Rustic furniture is the most simplistic of all reproduced furniture. Examples of rustic furniture may include usable pieces, such as tables and chairs. The rustic look is found in hunting lodges, and may include reproduced Adirondack furniture.

English

Some of the most recognized reproduced English furniture items include the Chippendale curled leg, found on chairs and end tables. The classic scallop shell design found on the top part of Chippendale chairs is also widely reproduced. Reproduced pieces may be made from traditional woods, which include oak, walnut, mahogany and satinwood. Other widely reproduced English furniture includes Victorian era pieces.

Early American

Early American reproduction furniture is styled in the Colonial Period, with the style of simple constructed wood, with little detail in regard to design. Styles reproduced include the Jacobean, Carolean and William and Mary style.
