Green Pastures Restaurant
Peacocks casually stroll the grounds of the historic Green Pastures Restaurant.
Since 1959, the Victorian home of Green Pastures restaurant witnessed many Central Texas vows. While peacocks stroll the five-acre grounds, elegant rooms decorated with antiques, fine china and linens greet guests inside. As Green Pastures is a restaurant, state regulations prohibit guest from bringing in outside food or alcohol. The restaurant offers a French-inspired gourmet menu and includes vegetarian options. Ceremonies may be held outdoors or inside, and menu offerings range from hors d'oeurves and brunch buffets to seated dinners. The restaurant is at the edge of the SoCo district, about five minutes from downtown.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes add color to spring weddings at the Wildflower Center.
Imagine the reduction in your floral budget if you're married in a wildflower center. The center accommodates 225 people and indoor and external facilities are available. Areas include a courtyard, auditorium, gallery, library and, of course, numerous trails among the grounds. Parties must choose from a list of experienced vendors. Tents are not allowed on the grounds. You may reserve the center any day after it closes to the public at 5:30 p.m., although staff highly recommends events start after 6:30 p.m.
