Treasure Island
isn't just a Vegas hotel and casino, it's also a cluster of restaurants.
Treasure Island (treasureisland.com) isn't just a hotel and casino in Las Vegas -- it lures in visitors with live performances of Cirque du Soleil's "Mystere," a giant pool and deck area, a luxury spa and its signature erupting volcano. It's only natural that it also spoils visitors with restaurant choices, including upscale dining, casual spots, bistros and cafes, enough to keep a guest going for months without having to eat the same dish twice.
Khotan
Khotan is an upscale Asian bistro that serves gourmet Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Indonesian dishes. The restaurant also doubles as a treasure chest as it holds the largest private collection of antique jade and ivory artifacts in the United States. The atmosphere is elegant but unpretentious -- those lucky enough to be seated in the outdoor area are treated to the light, water and fire display that occurs each evening at Siren's Cove.
Phil's Italian Steak House
Not just any regular steakhouse, Phil's is an upscale dining room with an Italian-inspired aesthetic. Aside from serving exceptional steaks, diners can find a long list of fresh fish and other seafood as well as some rustic Italian specialties. Phil's also offers a three-course Prix Fixe menu ($45 as of 2011) for an upscale dinner at a downgraded price.
Isla Mexican Kitchen
Combine award-winning chef Richard Sandoval with award-winning designer Jeffery Beers and you have the sensationally chic Isla Mexican Kitchen. The menu is full of authentic Mexican dishes with a modern, refined twist. The only element in the place that remains unaffected are the 100 different tequilas at the bar. Instead of having a sommelier suggest a wine pairing, they'll direct you to a complementary tequila.
Gilly's BBQ
Gilly's BBQ is a saloon-style restaurant by day that serves saucy ribs, juicy steaks, chargrilled chicken and just about anything else you can slap on a barbecue. At night, the setting becomes a honky-tonk dance hall that looks out at the Vegas Strip through three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows.
Kahunaville
There are no luaus at Kahunaville, but guests are treated to regular feats of flare by the bartenders. The menu is full of tropical dishes and fresh seafood, but the real stars of the restaurant are the party-starting elements: the bartenders, the dancing servers and the extravagant frozen and fruity cocktails. Once the place is swinging, a DJ is on hand to turn a late dinner at Kahunaville into an even later dance party.
Pho Vietnamese
Simply put, Pho Vietnamese is a haven of comfort food in the form of noodle soup. Although the menu is dominated with flavorful bowls of soup, there are some small complementary plates in the form of dumplings, grilled meats and the famous Vietnamese Bahn Mi (bun sandwiches).
The Buffet
Las Vegas is famous for its buffets, but few of them match that of Treasure Island in selection and quality. The buffet is open all day and serves as a good, reasonably priced option for families, groups or a quick breakfast to start a day of Las Vegas excitement.
The Coffee Shop
The Coffee Shop is open 24 hours and offers a continental menu that contains a few gourmet twists. The family friendly atmosphere, gracious table service and casual manner make for a pleasant dining option for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a quick snack.
Other Eateries
Treasure Island also houses several food kiosks, such as Canter's Deli, Pizzeria Francesco's, Starbucks Coffee, Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop, and TI desserts. Limited seating is available for these eateries, but they're a perfect choice for grabbing something on the go or to bring out to the pool area.
