Steps On Make A Concept Paper

Steps on Make a Concept Paper

A concept paper can help capture a funding agency's interest and show that your proposal is worth a closer look. From a funding agency's point of view, concept papers give them a brief overview of potential projects and help them to quickly eliminate proposals that don't fit their requirements. A concept paper can be viewed as a brief version of a business plan and may be requested by investors, a chamber of commerce or professors at your business school. This paper usually is no longer than a few pages.

Instructions

1. Write a few introductory sentences about you and the funding agency. These sentences should show that you know what the agency is looking for and that your business idea meets their requirements. If you have any partner agencies, a description of them should be included in your introduction.

2. Describe in a few paragraphs what your project is going to accomplish and why your idea is unique.

3. Write a couple of brief paragraphs describing your goals and objectives. You might include your research questions if your project is research oriented.

4. Add more detail about your goals and objectives, giving an overview about your methodology (how you intend to complete the project from start to finish). Make sure to include a general time line for your project.

5. State the benefits of your project and describe who will benefit from it.
